My name is Mara Mershon, and I am a fourth-year journalism and musical theatre student at the University of Georgia. I am passionate about all things creative, including writing, photography, digital design, art, and music. My aspiration is to build a successful career in media and creativity, whether in reporting, writing, design, or marketing. With strong leadership and interpersonal skills, I excel in public speaking and problem-solving.

At UGA, I am the Director of Marketing and Engagement for DiGamma Kappa, the Broadcast Society at Grady College of Journalism. I am also actively engaged in theatre, particularly with the musical theatre student organization NextAct, where I previously served as Associate Artistic Director. Additionally, I am a member of Shop With a Bulldog (SWAB), which annually fundraises to take underprivileged Athens-area students holiday shopping, and I actively participate in Jewish student organizations, including Chabad and Hillel.

In addition to my academic work, I have managed my own small business, Mara's Letters, since December 2021. This began as a passion project and has grown into a platform where I share my creativity with buyers across the country. Most recently, I completed a marketing internship with Atlanta Party Connection, where I managed social media accounts and created digital content using Canva to promote events and engage audiences.

My experiences have shaped my ability to work collaboratively, stay adaptable, and creatively address challenges, which are qualities I’m eager to bring into my professional endeavors. I'm committed to fostering meaningful connections through creativity and storytelling.
